FOX ORDERS A SECOND SEASON OF HIT DRAMA “THE FOLLOWING”

“From the very beginning, we felt Kevin Williamson and Marcos Siega had created a high-quality, edge-of-your-seat drama that could break from the pack, and it is exciting to see the audience responding,” said Reilly. “Kevin Bacon and James Purefoy have given us two of the most compelling characters on television and the entire cast is incredible. I’m delighted to have this thrill ride continue on FOX for another season.”

After only six airings, THE FOLLOWING is already the No. 2 broadcast drama and the No. 3 drama overallthis season with Live+7 ratings. Since it launched, the psychological thriller has also quickly established itself as one of the most buzzed-about series in social media, ranking as the No. 1 new broadcast drama in total social comments.

In tonight’s all-new episode (9:00-10:00 PM ET/PT), Joe Carroll (James Purefoy), with the help of attorney Olivia Warren (guest star Renee Elise Goldsberry), makes a case against Ryan (Kevin Bacon) and the FBI to be transferred to a different facility, but Ryan suspects a larger plan may be at play. Meanwhile, Emma (Valorie Curry) and Joey (Kyle Catlett) arrive at a meeting point and come across another follower who has a secret of his own.

The full-throttle drama continues with nine all-new episodes airing Mondays (9:00-10:00 PM ET/PT) on FOX.

CBS Entertainment and 20th Century Fox Television announced today that HOW I MET YOUR MOTHER will return for the 2013-2014 broadcast season.  All series regulars – Josh Radnor, Jason Segel, Cobie Smulders, Neil Patrick Harris and Alyson Hannigan, as well as series creators Carter Bays and Craig Thomas – will return for the final season, where audiences will final learn the identity of the Mother.

The three-year extension will take DR. PHIL through its 15th season.

 

DR. PHIL airs on 13 CBS-owned stations, including those in the top 5 markets: WCBS, New York; KCBS, Los Angeles; WBBM, Chicago; KYW, Philadelphia; and KTVT, Dallas-Ft. Worth. Archer was created by Adam Reed and Floyd County Productions and it is executive produced by Reed and Matthew Thompson. Seven all-new episodes of Archer remain in season four, which wraps up on Thursday, April 11 at 10:00 PM E/P. This year Archer will enter into the category of Outstanding Comedy Series for the Emmy® Awards.

Archer has posted dramatic ratings growth every year and season four of the series is on record pace. In 2013, Archer ranks as cable’s #2 series in delivery of Men 18-34 behind The Walking Dead, and it has ranked as television’s #1 program in that demo in the Thursday, 10 PM time period in four of the past six weeks (Live+Same Day). Through four episodes this season, Archer is posting gains of +44% in Adults 18-34 and +36% in Adults 18-49 compared to its season three average. First-run episodes of Archer are averaging 2.37 Million Total Viewers; 2.01 million Adults 18-49, and 1.41 million Adults 18-34 (L+7). In comparison to the Archer’s first season, four season in the series has increased its audience by +92% in Total Viewers, +129% in Adults 18-34, +159% in Men 18-34, +128% in Adults 18-49, and +160% in Men 18-49 (L+7).*

Archer is produced by FX Productions. In February 2012, FX Productions closed an overall production deal with the series’ Executive Producers, Adam Reed and Matt Thompson, and their animation studio, Floyd County Productions.

In tomorrow’s episode, “Live and Let Dine” (Airs February 28, 10:00 PM E/P), Archer (H. Yes, yes… we know we posted the news about the writers and production staff returning to work a few weeks ago but we didn’t have any official notice from AMC until today.  A couple of things to note, though: first, contrary to the reports from multiple sources, it doesn’t appear as if Netflix has anything to do with The Killing’s resurrection at all.  Then again, there may be a content deal that was worked out that made this possible that we aren’t privy to.  Second, in perhaps the only instance of a press release placating to butt-hurt viewers with an attention-span of a Labrador retriever, notice how the press release makes a point to mention right in the first paragraph that the third season will feature a new case that will be resolved by the end of the season… to which all we can say is:

AMC and FOX Television Studios Partner on “THE KILLING” Season Three

 

amc logoNew York, NY – January 15, 2013 – AMC and Fox Television Studios (FTVS) announced today a new deal which will return “The Killing” to AMC for a third season. As part of the deal, Veena Sud returns as executive producer, writer and showrunner along with actors Mireille Enos (Sarah Linden) and Joel Kinnaman (Stephen Holder). Season three will focus on a new case, which will be resolved over the course of 12 episodes. Production on season three begins February 25th in Vancouver.

“’The Killing’ from day one has been a truly original take on the crime drama. Veena Sud and the rest of the talented creative team are hard at work shaping the lives of Linden and Holder, portrayed by the terrific Mireille Enos and Joel Kinnaman,” said Charlie Collier, AMC’s president. “We’re so pleased to welcome back ‘The Killing’ for another season.”

“The Killing” is produced by Fox Television Studios and executive produced by Mikkel Bondesen for Bondesen Productions. Kristen Campo serves as co-executive producer.

The series premiered on AMC Sunday, April 3, 2011, with season two premiering Sunday, April 1, 2012. The Killing averaged 1.9 million viewers over the 2 seasons.

In the episode, “The Diamond in the Rough/The Archeologist in the Cocoon,” the Jeffersonian team investigates the death of a professional ballroom dancer who was murdered three days before her audition on a popular dancing competition show. In order to solve the case, Brennan (Emily Deschanel) and Booth (David Boreanaz) go undercover as dance competitors to see if they can find potential suspects. Then, the team investigates the murder of a well-known archeologist with a questionable reputation, who came upon a career-defining discovery right before his death.

BONES is a darkly amusing procedural centered on a highly skilled forensic anthropologist and an FBI agent. The announcement is from USA Network Co-Presidents Chris McCumber and Jeff Wachtel.

Necessary Roughness, paired with Royal Pains, averaged 5.3M viewers as the Wednesday night block this summer. The season two premiere of Necessary Roughness nabbed 4.6 million total viewers.

NECESSARY ROUGHNESS features Golden Globe(R) nominee Callie Thorne as she reprises her acclaimed role as Dr. Dani Santino, a Long Island psychotherapist and single mother who’s plucked out of relative obscurity to become the sports-psychologist for the New York Hawks. Season two returns on January 23, 2013 at 10/9c with five powerful episodes leading to a dramatic finale. After running the risk of losing her entire practice, Dani attempts to pick up the pieces of her complicated life. Meanwhile, Hawks star player and ultimate bad boy TK (Mehcad Brooks) struggles with his sobriety but will stop at nothing to maintain his number-one position as wide receiver. And with the franchise’s ownership in the balance, the team is challenged when a secret threatens to bring down the Hawks’ entire season.

Adam, Blake and Ders will keep clocking in at The Office as COMEDY CENTRAL has renewed “Workaholics” for a fourth and a fifth season, it was announced today by Kent Alterman , Head of Original Programming and Production, COMEDY CENTRAL. Thirteen episodes have been ordered for each season and new episodes of the hit series from Blake Anderson , Adam Devine , Anders Holm and Kyle Newacheck will begin on Wednesday, January 16 at 10:00 p.m. ET/PT.

Over its third season summer run, “Workaholics” averaged 2 million total viewers and was the highest rated series in its timeslot across all of television among Men 18-34 and Men 18-24.
